Karen Hoppis

Karen is a connected educator with a passion for integrating maker education within the framework of standards mastery. In her role as librarian of Coal Ridge Middle School she strives to provide teachers with the space, supplies, and coaching they need to integrate more creation and personalization into their curriculum, including a school makerspace, 3D printers, green screens, and a library redesign. Through creating and managing a student led geek squad and implementing processes for technology, she has made a positive impact on the integration of technology and increased student and teacher efficacy. Karen lives in Erie, CO with her husband and three children. When not geeking out about effective teaching and technology integration, she can be found knitting with her friends or in a zumba class at the gym. Karen enjoys presenting at local and state conferences and is proud to support the InnEdCO Board of Directors in order to encourage the spread of good ideas.

Robbi Makely

Robbi Makely moved from Upstate New York to Colorado and has over twenty years experience as an educator. She is a passionate advocate for underrepresented youth; for the last thirteen years, she served in Title 1 schools teaching technology. Galen Mitchell

Galen Mitchell is a philosopher, educator, and lover of learning. She has a Master of Humanities in Philosophy and theory, along with a BA in Political Science and Japanese Studies. Her interest in innovative teaching brought her to Denver Public Schools, where she spent the last 5 and a half years working as a School Technology Specialist and Mild/Moderate Special Educator. Galen leverages her philosophical background, along with design thinking and a lifelong interest in technology to find and solve problems with a focus on learners. In addition to her love of education, Galen enjoys playing guitar, and going on walks with her wife and 6 month old son. She is a dog person, and has two Boxers named Guinness and Arthur.

Christine Schein

Christine Schein is the Digital Literacy Instructional Specialist at the Colorado Department of Education. She has a Master’s degree in Education, Information Technology, and School Library Media. She has also earned CoSN’s prestigious Certified Ed Tech Leader Certification. She has presented at numerous conferences, including ISTE, AASL, CASE, CoSN, EdSpaces, and InnEdCO. Although her undergraduate degree is in Sociology & Criminal Justice and her work experience spans over various business fields, her passion is students and their future as responsible citizens in the world. She is an information geek that also loves to read, sing, and hike & kayak with her family and her dog Sunny.

Cameo DeDominces

Cameo has been working in education for over seventeen years in various capacities starting as a paraprofessional, teaching both elementary and middle school, and most recently as an administrator. Cameo has always had a passion for technology and innovation within her own classroom. As an administrator, Cameo has a passion for supporting technology and innovation work school wide by supporting teacher leaders in their work and working to eliminate the equity issues in education by providing meaningful innovative learning experiences for all students. Cameo will be starting the 2018-1019 school year, in her dream job, as the new principal of Ryan Elementary STEAM in Boulder Valley School District. Cameo moved to Colorado (from Minnesota/Wisconsin) four years ago, with her husband and two young boys. They currently live in Broomfield and enjoy all of the wonderful adventures and outdoor activities Colorado has to offer.
